Daniel J. Haurey
Founder and President
As the chief visionary behind Exigent Technologies’ long-standing success in the IT industry, Daniel Haurey stands out as one of New Jersey’s leading entrepreneurs and accomplished business leaders. His passion for success and fun-loving nature inspires Exigent’s high-energy company culture and white-glove customer service.
Dan founded Exigent in 1997 with a mission to meet the IT needs of small to midsized businesses across the New York/New Jersey region. With Dan at the helm, Exigent has earned many accolades including the Inc. 5000 recognition and inclusion in the 2013 and 2014 MSPmentor 501 Global Edition, a distinguished list that identifies the world’s top managed IT service providers. In 2014, Haurey was included on the MSPmentor 250 list, honoring the world’s top managed services provider (MSP) executives, entrepreneurs and experts. The team has also earned the business of high-profile customers including Carlo’s Bakery of the hit TV series “Cake Boss” and simplified IT for hundreds of New York and New Jersey’s fastest growing companies.
Dan frequently speaks at industry events, lending his business and technical insights to fellow tech entrepreneurs. A believer in the power of partnership, Dan served as the vice president and president of the VentureTech Network (VTN) Big Apple Chapter, a high-performance partner community run by the world’s largest technology distributor Ingram Micro.
Always looking to pay-it-forward, Dan supports a number of local charities and nonprofit organizations including the Essex County Vocational Technical School in Newark, N.J., where he has awarded scholarships in his name. Dan also served as a volunteer member of the Washington Township Schools Technology Committee and has made it a priority within Exigent to give back to the community.
In addition to numerous technical certifications, including Cisco, CompTIA and Microsoft, Dan earned an Associates degree in Business Administration.
Dan resides in Morris County, N.J. with his beautiful wife and three children. He loves to spend time with his family, dine out, travel and go fishing.
Gerald R. Busardo
As Exigent’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Gerald maintains top-level responsibility for all aspects of the company’s day-to-day operations.
As a passionate student and growing aficionado of principle-centered leadership, productivity, developing highly-engaged teams and maintaining corporate cohesiveness, Gerald is also the mastermind behind Exigent’s unique and successful recruiting, human resources, employee development, and corporate communication strategies.
Prior to serving as Senior Vice President, Gerald had built Exigent’s service department from the ground-up, including the creation of a scalable, adaptable and customer-focused Help Desk, a high-performance Project and Solutions Architecture Team, a comprehensive technical training and engineer development program, and a Technical Standards Committee so as to systematically involve the highly-skilled and seasoned engineers in the vetting process for new technologies, best practices and industry tools. Upon development of the service department, Gerald served as Exigent’s Service Delivery Manager for several years, successfully leading and supporting over a dozen technical personnel. To this day, he remains very involved in many service department activities, including Exigent’s Training Committee and Technical Standards Committee.
Gerald holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Computer Science, a master’s degree in Computer Science, in addition to various technical certifications accumulated throughout the years. He also is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and the IT Service Management Professional Group, had co-founded the New York/New Jersey-based IT Service Management and Operations Users Group, and has earned various technical certifications, ranging from Cisco Networking Academy to CompTIA to Microsoft.
When he’s not working or traveling the planet with his wife, it’s likely you’ll find Gerald watching science fiction films or playing video games — he’s a Call of Duty fanatic. But don’t peg Gerald as a couch potato. On the contrary, he is an avid outdoorsman and, like his boss, Dan, enjoys fine wine and has quite an impressive cigar collection.
Eric has a mind for business and technology, and a passion for excellence, motorcycles and classic rock-n-roll. As Vice President of Technology for Exigent, he leads a team of highly skilled technicians trained to architect solutions that empower small to mid-size businesses to achieve greatness.
A natural at technology, Eric has been building and innovating IT solutions and services for nearly 30 years. Although he started his career in IT as a programmer, his insane technical talent and smart business sense fast-tracked him to high-profile leadership positions such as vice president of technology and CTO for major corporations.
In 2005, Eric said good-bye to the big corporate life and joined forces with his long-time friend and business colleague Frank Vizzuso. The two IT heavyweights established Information Architects, an IT service provider specializing in systems integration, core platform technologies, managed services and virtualization for small business.
With its “always do right by the customer” company mantra, Information Architects grew into one of the most service-oriented and technically savvy businesses in New Jersey. In 2015, Information Architects merged with Exigent Technologies and the rest is fast becoming a well-documented success.
VP, Business Development
Frank Vizzuso is a roll-up your sleeves and get it done right type of business leader. With a soft spot for technical innovation, a memory that never forgets and a big love of family and friends, it’s no surprise why Frank’s career in IT has been so successful.
A self-proclaimed “geek with a mind for business,” Frank sweats the small stuff because details and relationships matter – especially when you’re building IT solutions and working to improve a customer’s success.
As Vice President of Business Development for Exigent Technologies, Frank’s top priority is listening to and understanding the goals and business challenges of the firm’s customers and prospects. He’s a quick study, and once Frank sees the solution, he aligns the business with the right mix of technology and professional services to ensure the needs are met, the company is primed for excellence and the customer is happy.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Frank graduated from Rutgers University in Newark and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) with a dual degree in information processing systems. He started his career as a systems engineer and four years later became one of the lead technical consultants at Integrated Computer Management (ICM). Frank met his future business partner Eric Burke at ICM and the two continued to grow their expertise, ultimately breaking out and starting their own IT services company – Information Architects – in 2005.
Frank and Eric met Exigent President Dan Haurey at an Ingram Micro VTN event shortly after founding Information Architects. The three shared some good laughs and grew to become friendly competitors in the New Jersey market. In 2014, opportunity knocked and Exigent Technologies and Information Architects merged under the Exigent brand the following year.
VP, Technical Services
Paul Bender bleeds black and gold, but we don’t hold it against him. When Paul’s not rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers or his favorite Major League Baseball team, the Pirates, he’s serving as Exigent Technologies’ Vice President of Technical Services.
A dedicated IT service professional, Paul spends his days – and some nights – providing strategic IT planning advice and guidance to our small and midsize business clients throughout New York and New Jersey. Through the course of any given day he simultaneously acts as a translator, communicating the concepts and benefits behind complex technologies, as well as an architect, leveraging Exigent’s award-winning team to create solutions that successfully solve business challenges for customers.
As Exigent’s Software Architect, Paul oversees our internal software development projects across a lifecycle that spans research and methodologies all the way to coding and creating and implementing end user testing and training. Once a solution is client-ready, Paul makes the switch to our trusted Virtual CIO / Technical Account Manager and ensures delivery and deployment exceeds the clients’ expectations and that the user experience is top-notch.
When Paul’s not in the office or visiting with Exigent’s clients, he loves to watch sports, play and listen to classical and acoustic guitar and build custom electronic gadgets. Not all at the same time of course, but given he’s great at multi-tasking, we wouldn’t put it past him.
Earlier in his career, Paul served as executive director of information technology and CIO for Lackland Self Storage, managing the entire IT infrastructure for the company’s 27 locations – a role that prepared him well for his leadership responsibilities at Exigent. Prior to joining Exigent, Paul was the director of information and operations for Stesor Enterprises, of Bridgewater, N.J., where, he designed, developed and managed high-traffic e-commerce prepared food service systems.
While he’s a techie at heart, with bachelor’s degrees in both criminology and applied mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Paul spent his formative years as an athlete, including competing in NCAA football, as well as Golden Gloves boxing while in college.
