New Jersey IT Services Firm to Host Educational Luncheon Event "EMR & Information Technology for the Specialty Medical Practice"

Exigent's luncheon will offer a review of current legislation, guidance on qualification for funds and a demonstration of CCHIT certified EMR software for the medical industry.

Mount Arlington, NJ — May 5, 2009 — Exigent Technologies is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and leading provider of IT services to specialty medical practices in New Jersey and New York City. Today Exigent announced that they will host a luncheon on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 entitled "EMR & Information Technology for the Specialty Medical Practice."

The event is for physicians, practice managers and other stakeholders who are interested in learning about the latest updates regarding federal funding. This information includes incentives to assist providers in adopting Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) which includes several billion dollars in incentives for doctors who implement EMR/EHR technology. The Medicare incentive within the law provides $44,000 per medical professional. Beginning in 2011, this money will flow directly to eligible professionals who are "meaningful users" of certified EMR/EHR technology.

The event is also slated to include a demonstration of gloEMR, a CCHIT certified Electronic Medical Records software system. Additionally, all attendees will receive a free guide, entitled "How to Hire an IT Services Firm for your Specialty Medical Practice."

Exigent's President Daniel Haurey states, "With an onslaught of information coming to providers and their staff members from several different sources, we thought there would be great value in putting together a streamlined, summary review of the most current and relevant facts on the stimulus plan, in a short, yet relaxed luncheon setting."

The venue for the event is the Hyatt Hotel at Headquarters Plaza in the heart of Morris County, New Jersey. Registration is required and there is a strict two person per practice limit. Those interested in attending should contact Val Schuszler at (973)770-0500, ext. 223, or register online at http://www.clicktoattend.com with event code 138020.

Haurey continued, "This lunch and format works well for all involved. It's an opportunity for busy medical professionals to step out for what amounts to an extended lunch, and come away with extremely valuable information for their practice. In that same short time frame, the attendees can witness a certified EMR software package, firsthand."
