Mount Arlington, NJ — August 14, 2009 — Daniel J. Haurey, founder and president of Exigent Technologies (exigentstg.wpengine.com) has announced that the New Jersey IT consultancy has been recognized by Inc. magazine as one of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

The 2009 Inc. 5000 is a list of the nation’s top 5,000 fastest-growing businesses based on revenue growth from 2005 through 2008, and represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. During the three year period beginning in 2005, Exigent Technologies experienced 64.9 percent revenue growth.

Consumer electronics maker Vizio, Internet giant GoDaddy, rental car service Zipcar, and beverage maker Honest Tea are among the prominent brands featured on this year’s list.

The Inc. 5000 serves as a unique report card on the U.S. economy. Despite the recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list increased to $214 billion, up $29 billion from last year, with a median three-year growth rate of 126 percent. The companies included on the Inc. 5000 are responsible for creating more than 1 million jobs since their founding; making the list perhaps the best example of the impact private, fast-growing companies can have on the economy.

“To be honored at the national level by such a prestigious publication is quite a distinction” said Haurey. Adding copious praise to his staff, Haurey added, “It’s amazing what a small group of talented and passionate people can accomplish.” IT Services had the most companies on this year’s list with 658, followed by Business Products & Services (502), Advertising & Marketing (398), Construction (354), and Manufacturing (342).

In highlighting several key factors as ingredients for the firm’s success, Haurey credited “devoted staff members that are passionate about customer service and continual improvement, especially Gerry Busardo, our service delivery manager.” Haurey added that the firm’s focus on the recession resistant healthcare sector has been particularly beneficial.

Exigent will be honored at the 28th annual Inc. 500|5000 Conference, scheduled to be held Wednesday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept. 25 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
